Install

The Promptster for Teams CLI is a single binary (promptster-teams) that tails your AI tool transcripts, redacts them on-device, and streams the result to your team’s dashboard. It installs into its own directory, ~/.promptster-teams, so it never collides with the hiring CLI.

System requirements

macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon), Linux (x64 or arm64), or Windows (npm install only)
Claude Code and/or Codex installed and having run at least once, so their transcript directories exist
A PSE-XXXX-XXXX developer key from your team admin
Network access to your team’s Promptster dashboard host

Works on macOS, Linux, and Windows:

npm install -g @promptster/teams-cli

Published packages ship with build provenance. You can verify the supply chain before trusting the binary:

npm audit signatures

Requires Node.js 16 or newer.

Downloads a pre-built binary to ~/.promptster-teams/bin/promptster-teams:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pa-arth/promptster-teams-cli/main/install.sh | sh

The script detects your OS and architecture, downloads the binary and its checksum, and verifies the checksum before making the binary executable — a mismatch aborts the install. It then adds ~/.promptster-teams/bin to your shell profile.Pin a specific version:

PROMPTSTER_TEAMS_VERSION=0.5.0 sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pa-arth/promptster-teams-cli/main/install.sh)"

The install script supports macOS and Linux only. On Windows, use the npm install above.

If you have Go installed:

go install github.com/pa-arth/promptster-teams-cli/cmd/promptster-teams@latest

Or clone the repository and run make build (binary in bin/) or make install (copies to /usr/local/bin).

Verify the install

promptster-teams version

You should see a version string like 0.5.0. If the command isn’t found after the script install, add the bin directory to your PATH:

export PATH="$HOME/.promptster-teams/bin:$PATH"

Add that line to your ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc to make it permanent, then restart your shell. To confirm your key, dashboard connectivity, and transcript directories are all wired up:

promptster-teams doctor

Update

Re-run your install method to upgrade:

npm install -g @promptster/teams-cli@latest
# or, if you used the script:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pa-arth/promptster-teams-cli/main/install.sh | sh

The CLI does not upgrade itself silently.
